APCE Diversity Task Force Update

Join members of APCE’s Diversity Task Force to hear about the parameters, definitions, and principles upon which our work is based. We will also share preliminary assessments and potential recommendations. Ample time will be reserved for questions and responses and most especially for your input on how well APCE is living into its goal of being more just and equitable.

Led by members of the APCE Diversity Task Force – women and men, persons of color and persons of white, of many ages, geographies, and denominations.

Educator Certification Advisor Update, PC(USA)

This will be an opportunity for those who are Educator Certification Advisors for their presbytery to learn more about the revised, endorsed Christian Education Associate process and to share concerns and questions with each other and the Educator Certification Committee of the PC(U.S.A).

Led by Cindy Kissel-Ito, associate professor of Christian education and director of the Master of Arts in Christian education program at Union Presbyterian Seminary in Richmond, VA, and a member of the ECC, and Susan Sharp Campbell, associate for educational ministries for the Presbytery of West Virginia, and former ECC member.

Educator Certification Conversation

Are you interested in educator certification or currently in the process? Learn more about the process for both certification and the unveiling of the recently revamped endorsement level of Christian Education Associate.

Led by Jenna Campbell, the director of Children and Youth Ministry at First Presbyterian Church in Stillwater, OK, and Cheryl Carson, the associate executive presbyter for Central Florida Presbytery. Both are certified Christian educators currently serving on the Educator Certification Committee for the PC(USA).

Join us for our annual First Timer’s Welcome. We will share tips for navigating your first APCE Annual Event, connect you with your regional APCE Connector, and answer your question about APCE. All this and door prizes too! Come and join us!

Retired Educators’ Gathering

Can you believe it has been 50 years since our predecessor organizations voted on a merger that we celebrate this year, the Association of Presbyterian Church Educators? This momentous occasion is time to gather the saints who nurtured faith communities, mentored other educators, and supported the mission of APCE for many years. All retired educators are invited to come for an hour of conversation, fellowship, and reminiscing – celebrating our important connections over the years!

Led by Zeta Lamberson is a former APCE president, the moderator of the APCE 50th Anniversary Committee, and pastor of Covenant Presbyterian Church, Marietta, GA.
