The group will tour the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute. The Civil Rights Institute is part history lesson, part audience participation and part demonstration of how the city has evolved since the 1960s. Photos, videos, audio recordings and exhibits put visitors inside the integration movement. After touring the BCRI, participants will walk through Kelly Ingram Park and by the Sixteenth Street Baptist Church. Sunday, September 15, 1963, at 10:22 am, the church became known around the world when a bomb exploded killing four young girls attending Sunday School and injuring more than 20 members of the congregation. We will also meet ahead of the Annual Event by Zoom to give you a chance to connect with colleagues, receive tools to use during the event and discern some goals.
