Westminster Presbyterian Church, located in Nashville, TN, is seeking a full-time Associate Pastor for Community Life. As a church with more than 1500 members, WPC fosters a diverse and deeply spiritual community that nurtures lives of faith, hope, and love. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience in a similar role and be a compassionate leader who enjoys innovation and collaboration.
Responsibilities:
Develop and strengthen the church’s small-group ministry program by recruiting, training, and maintaining small-group leaders.
Provide support and outreach to young adults and young families within the congregation, and develop additional ways to connect with existing members and young adults/families outside the church.
Explore and develop opportunities for alternative worship services to better connect with the congregation and others outside the church community.
Collaborate with other church staff and congregants to creatively expand new ways to live out the Christian faith.
Connect with those in the congregation and the community at large.
Qualifications:
Engaging and passionate about relationship building.
Energetic and action/goal oriented with a strong work ethic.
Demonstrated excellence in the education and development of small-group leaders.
Creative and able to work collaboratively with other church staff and congregants.
Deep understanding of scripture and theology, and the ability to communicate that understanding to a wide variety of people with a range of knowledge base.
The ability to leverage technology and social media to engage the congregation and further develop relationships.
Strong listening and communication skills.
To be considered for this position, candidates must hold a statement of faith and meet the training/certificate requirements set by the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). In addition, the ideal candidate will have a vision for ministry that aligns with the mission and values of WPC.
