Hours: 24 flexible hours per week – schedule to include Sundays and special occasions.

Salary Range: $22,000 to 26,000 depending on experience.

Benefits: Pro-rated Health Insurance and vacation time. Sick time and retirement.

Responsibilities of the position:

• Coordinates and develops the Children’s educational ministry so that children grow in their understanding of the Christian Faith.

• Coordinates and develops the educational needs for children from ages preschool, K-2, 3rd – 5th grades.

• Selects and orients teachers for the Sunday School Program.

• Assures volunteers/helpers are prepared and have all necessary resources available.

• Maintains a list of volunteer substitute teachers for Sunday School.

• Coordinates with Children’s Ministry Committee in selection of curriculum for Children’s Ministry.

• Interviews/selects paid child care provider for Nursery. Acts as contact person for needed help.

• Oversees the Church’s Child/Youth Protection screening process which involves running a background and reference checks. Participates in the leadership of training sessions.

• Maintains Child Protection records for all volunteers.

• Attends, participates with Church staff and Committees to provide a comprehensive Children’s Ministry Program.

• Develops relationships with the families, of infants through elementary age children within Church. Maintains contact with them, welcomes them on Sunday mornings; reaches out to new families as well.


• Commitment to Christianity and membership in a Christian church.

• Work experience in a Christian church with minimum of 3 years experience.

• A commitment to and passion for children.

• College level preparation (could be a degree or courses taken).

• An understanding of current trends and principles of both Christian education and human development.

• Skilled in oral and written communications.

• Demonstrates flexibility to plan, organize, manage multiple projects; establish work priorities and complete work assignments.

• Leadership skills, including the ability to organize and coordinate people and programs

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

• Ability to interact in a positive relationship with both staff, families, children, youth and adults.

• Ability to recruit volunteers for the programs for which you are responsible.

• Experience in budget preparation, maintenance and constraints.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Social Media.
