Director of Christian Education and Mission

The Director of Christian Education and Mission serves as a member of the church staff to oversee the education ministries of the church and to offer guidance and leadership for its mission and outreach efforts. Responsibilities include: management and oversight of the comprehensive Christian Education program (children, youth and adult), including coordinating with volunteers and staff (e.g., Youth Directors) to encourage an enthusiastic, spirited, positive approach to Christian Education; and development of congregational mission engagement in local, denominational and international efforts, including participation in the leadership of the annual Multicultural Festival, the church’s city-wide event celebrating diversity.

Hours and Compensation
This is a full-time, ministry staff position, 40 hours per week, with excellent benefits. Annual salary range of $34,000- $41,000. Up to $2000 reimbursable professional and continuing education expenses. Four weeks of vacation (includes 4 Sundays) and two weeks of continuing education (includes 2 Sundays.)

A deep sense of Christian faith, an understanding of Reformed theology, and a passion for building a just and peaceful world. Affiliation with the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) preferred, but not essential.
Masters Degree in Christian Education or related field preferred, or equivalent experience in congregational ministry
At least 2 to 5 years of experience in Christian Education, mission, or church leadership preferred
Strong communication skills, including written, verbal, and social media. Spanish language speaking proficiency highly desired.
