About the position: Develop, coordinate, and provide overall leadership to the children’s and youth ministry of The Community Church in Ada, with a special emphasis on grades 3-8. Part-time.

General Responsibilities:
Support the mission, vision, and values of The Community Church in Ada and participates in the overall life of the congregation including weekly worship services
Establish regular office hours, attend weekly staff meetings, and meet regularly with senior pastors and other staff and volunteers as needed
Collaborate with senior pastors and key volunteers to map out a comprehensive strategy for faith formation from birth through grade 12
Communicate with the congregation regarding children and youth ministries via bulletin boards, newsletters, up-front announcements, social media, and informal conversation
General Administration: recruit, screen, train, schedule, and support volunteers, ensure compliance with Child Protection Policy, maintain accurate database information, manage budgets
Adhere to the Personnel Policy of The Community Church in Ada

Specific Responsibilities:
Oversee the nursery ministry by providing supervision for the nursery staff person

Children’s Ministry
Provide administrative and operational support for the Children’s Ministry Team
Participate on the Sunday morning teaching team for upper elementary, teaching approximately one time a month

Middle School Youth: Design and implement a middle school youth ministry that …
Meets at least bi-weekly
Fosters a relationship with God through biblical exploration and spiritual practices
Nurtures authentic relationships between and among youth and adults
Provides a safe space to discuss life’s difficult questions
Creates opportunities for service projects and play
Offers opportunities for yearly retreats; director will leads retreat groups as needed

High School Youth
Coordinate with volunteers to foster relationships, plan service opportunities and other events as requested
Develop a vision for high school youth ministry for the middle school students to grow into

Complete other duties as assigned to support the operations of the church

Reports to the senior pastor.

Status and Benefits:
15 hours a week; $17-20 per hour
Paid time off (prorated accrual begins after 90 days)
