First Presbyterian Church of Odessa, TX (www.fpcodessa.org) is a community of faith eager to move together into God’s future as we continue to love and serve Jesus Christ in West Texas. With over 100 years of visible impact in their community, First Presbyterian Church, affectionately called the “neighborhood church”, is seeking a Pastor who will lead them into using their plenteous resources to reach an ever growing Odessa community.
Working in collaboration with church leadership, this person will
Lead worship through impactful, relevant preaching and teaching
Direct organization and systems to support a sustainable model of ministry
Direct the spiritual growth of church members through small groups, Bible study, service to others, and fellowship opportunities – all of which are appealing and inclusive
Administer pastoral care for all ages in times of celebration, grief, and growth
Lead the church’s strategy and vision to serve their neighborhood and community through Christ’s love, setting goals and actions steps
The ideal candidate will have the following: 5-10 years of pastoral ministry in the Presbyterian church; a Master’s Degree; ordination; and experience leading a staff. This person must be a team player. Salary and benefits are commensurate with experience.
