APCE Annual Event 2019 | Hotel and Travel Information
Event Menu:
This year APCE will be housed in three hotels (Hilton Hotel, San Luis Hotel, and Holiday Inn Resort). Our discounted block at the Hilton and San Luis is now full. Reservations can still be made at the Holiday Inn Resort. Worship, plenaries, market place and most workshops will be held in the Galveston Island Convention Center. All hotels are a short walk to restaurants, a grocery store and pharmacy.
Complimentary shuttle service is offered between the San Luis and the Holiday Inn Resort hotels and the Convention Center during APCE’s conference.

When you make reservations, be sure to indicate that you are with the Association of Presbyterian Church Educators (APCE) in order to receive the special conference room rates. Reservation requests will be confirmed only if accompanied by one night’s room deposit or guaranteed by a major credit card.
Group room rates are available three days prior to the Annual Event to three days post based on availability. Hotel reservations made after Friday, January 18, 2019, will be granted at the conference rate only on a space-available basis. Guest room sales tax is currently 15.00%, subject to change without notice. State and local sales tax rates of 8.25% added to all purchases, subject to change.
Airport/ Airline Information
This year there are two airports to choose from (HOU and IAH). Please read the following information carefully as you make your decision. Remember you are flying into the fourth largest city in the US. Rush hour runs from 6:45 am – 9:00 am and 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm. Traveling during these hours will add a significant amount of time to your trip.
Airport Information:
William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) is serviced by American Airlines, Delta, JetBlue and Southwest. Houston Hobby to Galveston is approximately 50 minutes depending on traffic.
George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) is serviced by Air Canada, Alaska, American, Delta, Frontier, Spirit, United and many more.There are five passenger terminals which operate as independent terminals closely connected to each other. Bush Intercontinental Airport to Galveston is approximately 90 minutes depending on traffic.

Uber and Lyft
Estimated fares for Uber and Lyft are $42-56 from Houston Hobby to the cruise port each way. The estimated cost is $73-96 for a ride from Bush Intercontinental to the Galveston port. Keep in mind that fare is for the car, not per person like many other shuttle services. Up to four people can ride for that price.
