APCE Membership

Any person, church, presbytery, synod, classis, resource center, or seminary involved in the educational ministry of the church may be a member of APCE. The payment of dues shall constitute membership in APCE. The membership year shall be on the calendar year from January 1 – December 31. New members joining on or after August 1 will receive an active membership through December 31 of the following year.

Individual Membership

When you become an individual member of the Association of Presbyterian Church Educators, you receive . . .

• The APCE Advocate–a quarterly journal that offers a forum for current concerns related to church education, listings of continuing education opportunities, and opportunity for exchange of ideas and resources. The resource section in each issue features writers at the forefront of particular topics.

• The APCE Alert – a regular email newsletter to keep you current with the latest and greatest happenings in the organization.

• Discount on Registration Fees for the annual event sponsored by the association.

• The APCE Membership Directory – a listing of all current members and their email addresses

• Connection to Denominational Structures and active advocacy related to roles and responsibilities.

• Status, Standards, and Educational Opportunities for church educators.

• The APCE Web Site–available to help members and friends get current information and resources to connect with the mission of APCE. You can learn about continuing education opportunities, see photos from past events, nominate people for Life Achievement and Educator of the Year awards, and discover how to help the mission and ministry of APCE grow.

• The Certification Council is a strong avenue for encouraging and strengthening the role of persons serving in a variety of educational ministries.

• The APCE Scholarship Fund provides financial help to racial ethnic participants and those seeking financial support to attend the annual event. Among the 7 types of scholarships is the Val Murphy Scholarship which offers financial help to ethnic minority participants in particular.

Membership Costs :

Regular Membership: $100
A membership connected to a person who serves the church or church related ministry

Senior Member: $60.00
Adult members aged 65 or older. Includes all benefits of regular membership

Student Member: $60.00
For individuals ages 18-25 or currently enrolled as full-time students at the undergraduate or graduate level. Includes all benefits of regular membership

Organizational Membership

• Connection to Your Regional Representative and to Multicultural Representatives for communication of interests and concerns.

• Participation in Regional Activities, including regional gatherings at the annual event.
