Faith & Grief acknowledges the importance of remembering our loved ones and participating in the rituals that support our mourning. You are invited to remember your loved ones who have died by writing their names on a ribbon and adding the ribbons to the Arch as a symbol of remembrance. The Arch here at APCE is located outside the ballroom. On Friday morning of the conference, a memorial service is offered to you, so you may acknowledge your grief and the grief we have experienced as a community and remember loved ones.
We began the Faith & Grief Memorial Arch in 2016 after a local mass shooting tragedy in Dallas. The shooting happened at the end of a march and vigil held after the police killings of Alton Sterling in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Philando Castile in Falcon Heights, Minnesota, which had occurred in the preceding days.
Our mission is to provide opportunities for comfort & hope to those who have experienced the death of a loved one.
