Hands and Heart: Creative Practices for Soulful Connection

Wednesday, January 21

9:00am – 12:00pm

Description

Take a deep breath. Unclench your jaw. Put something in your hands.

In this sacred-making space, you’re invited to slow down and reconnect—with yourself, with God, and with the world around you. Whether you’re an experienced crafter or someone who’s never threaded a needle, this hands-on workshop is for anyone longing to engage their faith through creativity.

Rooted in the APCE 2026 theme Bridging the Gap: Love Self – Love God – Love Neighbor, this experience brings together body and spirit, contemplation and creativity, prayer and practice. You’ll have the opportunity to experiment with quilting, embroidery, hand-sewing, stole and parament crafting, Cricut design, heat pressing, and more—exploring how fiber arts can become forms of prayer, reflection, and even proclamation.

Come stitch your prayers. Layer stories into fabric. Let the rhythm of making quiet your mind and open your heart. All materials and machines will be provided, and you’ll leave with something you’ve made—whether a work of art, a tool for ministry, or simply a tangible reminder that God meets us in the work of our hands.
Here, you’re invited to create, connect, and breathe deeply—because sometimes the holiest thing you can do is make something.

Fee: $75
