We invite you to submit a workshop proposal for the 2027 APCE Annual Event. We encourage you to bring your best ideas, practices, and passions to offer a workshop that will strengthen and inspire colleagues across the church.

We seek workshops that will engage and equip clergy, volunteers, denominational staff, and educators, offering meaningful learning for people serving in a wide range of ministry contexts.

Workshops are encouraged that support those newly involved in faith formation as well as those addressing the needs of seasoned educators, clergy, and volunteers. We also welcome proposals that highlight interdenominational, cross-cultural, or interfaith collaboration; connect congregations to the communities they serve; or explore innovative, non-traditional approaches to ministry. Workshops should be engaging and interactive, offering both personal growth opportunities and practical ideas that can be implemented within a participant’s context.

The Annual Event will feature a diverse selection of workshops, including topics such as:

  • Faith formation and discipleship
  • Spirituality and spiritual practices
  • Social justice and mission
  • Leadership development
  • Creative Art and Recreation
  •  Music, and Worship
  • Ministry with children, youth, adults of all ages, and intergenerational communities
  • Ministry with and alongside vulnerable populations

All accepted workshops will be presented in person at the APCE Annual Event in Portland, Oregon, January 27–30, 2027. A select number of workshops will also be offered in a hybrid format for AE Online participants, and some of those may be interpreted in Spanish.

As you design your workshop proposal, please consider the following:

  • Provide a clear, concise title and description that communicates what participants will learn or experience
  • Workshops intended to sell products or services tend to receive low participant evaluations; presenters wishing to promote products are encouraged instead to apply as marketplace vendors by emailing aemarketplace@apcenet.org

The application deadline is Friday, March 29, 2026. Workshop proposals will be reviewed in April 2026, and presenters will be notified of selection by early June.

All presenters must register for the Annual Event and will receive $100 off registration for up to two co-leaders per workshop. Housing and meals not included in the conference registration are the responsibility of presenters; no additional compensation is provided.
