Position: Director of Youth & Family Ministries
Part Time: 10 hours / week
Purpose of the Position:
The Director of Youth & Family Ministries, in coordination with the Pastor and the Youth Team, will be responsible for implementing, overseeing, and directing youth and family ministries at Tyger River Presbyterian Church.
Qualifications:
Sense of calling to church ministry.
Bachelor’s degree in theology, ministry, or related field is preferred but not required
Commitment to the Christian faith, the goals of Tyger River Presbyterian Church, and to fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment
Demonstrated experience working with youth and families in a ministry setting
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to collaborate effectively with church leadership and volunteers
Passion for guiding young individuals in their faith journey
Work with the Christian Education team on growing and enriching the youth Sunday School program
Satisfactory completion of background check
Accountable to: The Director of Youth & Family Ministries reports to the Pastor, who will conduct an annual review for submission to the Personnel Team.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement engaging and spiritually enriching youth and family programs.
Lead weekly youth group and other relevant activities for youth and families.
Provide care and support to youth and their families, building strong relationships.
Collaborate with church leaders to align youth and family activities with the church’s mission and values.
Organize and execute outreach initiatives to connect with the broader community, including an annual Youth Mission Trip.
Mentor and guide youth in their spiritual journey and personal development.
Coordinate and oversee events, camps, and retreats for youth and families.
