O God, most holy and faithful,
Upheld by your strength, we have fasted, prayed, planned, and worked throughout these forty days. Having now moved beyond the confession and contrition of Ash Wednesday; past the parades and pageantry, the colt and the cloaks, the hymns and hosannas of Palm Sunday, our energy wanes. Having crafted crosses, coaxed children to collect coins, and dedicated One Great Hour of Sharing fish banks, we humbly pray that you strengthen us as we journey through Holy Week, ever deeper into the fullness of the passion of Jesus Christ, Your Son.
Lamb of God,
Help us to care for ourselves as we care for Your flock. Teach us how to tenderly interpret the mystery of Christ’s dying and the miracle of Christ’s resurrection to those in our charge. Walk with us as we walk with You. Give us inspiration by day and rest by night until we rise again with Your Son at Easter.
In Jesus’ precious name, we pray. Amen.
