Joyce MacKichan Walker

Joyce MacKichan Walker

Joyce MacKichan Walker retired in 2018 after thirty years of ministry at the Nassau Presbyterian Church in Princeton, New Jersey, as minister of education and mission and director of Christian education. She is a 1979 graduate of the Presbyterian School of Christian Education (now Union Presbyterian Seminary) in Richmond, Virginia, and a certified Christian educator since 1983.

She has served the PC(USA) on the certification council, the Association of Presbyterian Church Educators’ leadership team, a General Assembly workgroup on the role and status of Christian educators, and the task force on educational design for ordination of Christian educators.

Her first love within Christian education is teaching, which she actively practices as instructor of certification classes for Christian educators, for older adult ministry, and as a workshop leader. In addition to co-writing two books and a multitude of leader’s guides, her recent writing projects include articles for Presbyterian Women’s Horizons magazine, the APCE Advocate, and hope4ce.net. Joyce was the APCE Educator of the Year in 2008.
