Awards & scholarships Ministry Team

Would you like an opportunity to recognize new and long-time educators who have given so much of themselves to the ministry of Christian Education? Would you like to have a hand in helping provide opportunities for more people to attend the Annual Event? If so, you would be a great addition to the Awards and Scholarships Ministry Team!

The purpose of the Awards and Scholarships Ministry Team is to recognize APCE members for significant contributions to the ministry of Christian education through the existing Life Achievement and Educator of the Year awards, to develop new awards, and to oversee the Val Murphy Scholarship Fund. The team’s primary goals are to encourage new educators, support & recognize long-time educators, increase attendance at Annual and Regional events through scholarships, and to seek & support diversity among educators. 

The Key responsibilities of this team are: 

• Solicit nominations and recommend nominees for the awards 
• Plan recognition of the award recipients at the Annual Event and coordinate with other ministry teams for recognition of recipients on social media and in other publications. 
• Select scholarship recipients, provide recipients with appropriate forms, and communicate names of scholarship recipients to other teams as needed. 

The team should be made up of six members serving in three-year, rotating terms. They will meet in person at the Annual Event and meet virtually regularly and as needed.
